Why choose Palisade Fencing ?

Palisade Fencing is a cost effective way to providing a high level of security to the boundary line of any property. Palisade is a very popular choice of fencing in commercial applications such like industrial units and schools throughout the UK. The reason behind this popularity is due to the steel Palisade Fencings' simple but robust design makes this type of fencing extremely vandal resistant and very hard to damage. Due to this simple design the fence is extremely difficult to climb making it a good all round security fencing system.

Steel Fencing (Gates & Railings) Ltd provide three types of palisade fencing although all are very similar in appearance and design options they all have their very own unique differences, and all work just as well as each other to protect the land that they surround.

The various Palisade Fencing options available are listed below. Our team are able to supply and install all at highly competitive rates. All Palisade Fencing systems supplied are hot dip galvanised to BS EN ISO 1461 ensuring complete protection and durability.

Palisade Pail Profile Choices

Standard Palisade Fencing: Palisade Pail Profile Choices

Palisade Fencing is produced with two distinct alternative pale profiles called 'D' or 'W'. The traditional 'D' section profile is recommended for low to medium security requirements. The more recent design the 'W' section profile offers a higher level of protection due to the stronger folding it both makes the pail harder to bend and at the same time the recess in the middle of the profile helps hide the bolt head giving it a more tamper resistant advantage compared to the original D section.

Benefits of Palisade Fencing

Palisade Fencing offers one main benefit that many other fence products do not which is that by the nature of its design it will naturally follow the profile of sloping ground, this feature stops the need for stepping which in turn lowers the chance of any possible oversized gaps that may be caused by using other types of fencing that possibly would have caused a security issue.

Another benefit of palisade fencing is that the Smooth surface, sharp pale crest and narrow pale spacing defeats attempts at climbing, straddling, grabbing or gaining foot-holds by even the most determined intruders.

Palisade Gates

Palisade gates are commonly required within the run of fencing line to allow access to the land it is protecting. Steel Fencing (Gates & Railings) Ltd have an edge over our main competitors due to having our own fabrication workshop as well as stocking some standard size gates, any bespoke or unusual size gate can be fabricated and ready to install in the shortest possible lead times. This gives us up to a two week advantage on delivery dates over other suppliers depending on current work load.

Our team design, manufacture and install if required all types of gates. Swing Gates, Sliding Gates and also Cantileaver style gates and any of the above choices all have the option of being manual or automated. By having our very own manufacturing facility we can ensure that we only provide the highest quality Palisade gates to our customers.

General Construction of Palisade Fencing

Palisade Fencing is constructed using the following main components, these components are:

To construct one bay of Palisade Fencing you would require two posts, two cross rails and 17 pails. Each bay as standard spans a distance of 2750mm. Along with these items to construct one bay of fencing you would also require 4 connection plates referred to as fish plates these plates pass through the posts to bolt the cross rails in place. lastly the fixings required to bolt all this together are 4no M12 Security fixings for securing the fish plates to the posts and then 34no M8 security fixings to secure the pails to the cross rails, the image below details where these components are used in the makeup of a bay of palisade fencing. For further information on how to install our Palisade Fencing please refer to our Palisade Installation Guide below.

Palisade Installation Process

The general Installation process of Palisade Fencing consists of the RSJ or cold rolled posts being concreted in or bolted down at 2.75 meter centers, then the mild steel angles are place between the main uprights and fixed into position using the supplied connection plates which pass through the slotted holes in the main posts. Once this is done the final process is to bolt the palisade pails to the cross rails. Dependent on the make of Palisade Fencing supplied some require a central support leg which bolts direct to the bottom rail and is then also either concreted in or base plated.
